Last night, Trinidad and Tobago professional club W. Connection routed Dominicans, 4D Centre Bath Estate, in a one sided affair that ended 12-1 in favour of the Connection while CSD Barber of Curacao unsuccessfully challenged Inter Moengo Tapoe in Paramaribo for a space in the second Round of the CFU Club Champions Cup.

CSD Barber traveled to Suriname knowing that they needed to end the match with a lead of three clear goals to assure them a spot in the following round of the Club Champions' Cup. The Curacao team, coming from a 1-3 defeat in Curacao, scored in the early minutes of the first half to take the lead and were further encouraged when Moengo Tapoe's Brayan Damba was expelled from the field after only 21 minutes of play. The resoloute Surinamese team however, held on and repelled Barber's constant attacks with only ten men on the field to ensure their qualification to the second round with a 3-2 aggregate score.

Inter Moengo Tapoe will now face San Juan Jabloteh in Trinidad and Tobago for their CFU Club Champions Cup Round 2 match-up on April 13th.

Centre Bath Estate had arrived in Trinidad on Monday knowing that Round two qualification would be difficult after having lost by five goals against W. Connection in Roseau. The game began promptly at 7:00 pm in  Mannie Ramjohn Stadiun in south Trinidad and only 5 minutes after the start, the deluge of goals began when Jonathan Frias scored a double within 2 minutes of each other. Trinidad and Tobago National team player Andre Toussaint put a third past goalkeeper Erickson Joseph before the Dominicans scored their only goal of the night through a Kurlson Benjamin shot in the 26th minute.

Connection continued their goal-spree with two more, ending the half at 6-1, and doubled their score  in the second half to 12 goals before the end of the night's play.

W. Connection FC now await the winner of SA Cavaly Sportif of Haiti versus SV Britannia of Aruba in Round 2. The Haitians lead Britannia 5-0 after the 1st leg match last week in Port-au-Prince and  travel to Aruba today for their final leg.
